The University of Nebraska–Lincoln “In Our Grit, Our Glory” brand message was created through an inclusive, 16 month process and shaped by thousands of testing surveys, interactions with hundreds of faculty and staff, student focus groups and surveys of university stakeholders.
The brand launch was teased to the campus community with sculptures and sidewalk clings of the words “Grit” and “Glory” placed all over campus for a week, as well as posters and digital signage inviting people to the event.
The new brand message was introduced by our chancellor to faculty and staff and through rallies for the entire campus community that included a DJ, “In Our Grit, Our Glory” giveaways, free food and video screens showcasing the institutional PSA TV spot that aired during all of the televised Husker football games as well as inside Memorial Stadium.
The campaign also includes a landing page and social engagement that have begun to push the message of “grit” and “glory” to our external audiences too.
Our brand guide and visual language document were updated to help share our brand message to internal and external audiences more extensively.
